How often should you steam?
Steaming is normally done every 2 weeks.
- Women who suffer from fibroids should steam 3x per month.
- Women who suffer from pain or bloating during menstruation should steam two or three times within the week before menstruation.
- Women who are experiencing fertility challenges should steam once a week, and twice a few days before ovulation to make sure the tissue is moist and that the cervical fluids are clear.
- For postpartum, a steam may be done 3 times per week for 4 weeks to facilitate healing and toning of the uterus.
Note:
Women who are pregnant, or think there is any possibility that they might be, should NOT do any types if vagi steam. Doing so may endanger the pregnancy, as many of the herbs can alter hormone levels and can cause contractions of the uterus. It is also recommended that women should not steam while menstruating or when open sores or blisters are present.
