Natural Herbs for Diabetes
Glucose is to your body what gas is to a car. Just how a car won’t start without gas; your body doesn’t without glucose. Ever cell in the human body need glucose to survive and carry out its functions. Your cells need energy to carry out simple tasks like walking, brushing your teeth any form of muscle contraction. This energy comes from glucose.
What is Glucose?
Glucose is a type of sugar that your body gets from the food you eat. When we eat, our bodies immediately starts breaking our food down into glucose. It then places it into the blood stream so that is can travel to our cells to be used for energy.
BUT- Glucose cannot directly access the cells, it needs the assistance of a hormone called insulin. On the surface of each cell are insulin receptors which allows the insulin to attach itself to the cells and allow them to absorb the glucose from your blood.
WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH DIABETES?
If your pancreas fails to produce insulin when its necessary (Insulin Resistance) it can cause Type1 Diabetes. As said before, insulin attaches to insulin receptors that are attached to the cels, if there is no insulin to be attached there will be no glucose to bind to the cells. If your insulin receptors aren’t functioning as it should the insulin would be hard to bind; causing Type 2 Diabetes.
Im sure you’ve heard about the “itis”, we often like to brag about having it. But this is an actual condition called “Postprandial Somnolence” aka Pre Diabetes. Yes having the itis isn’t much of a difference than having diabetes. When you get tired after a big meal, your body is trying to tell you something.
