PCOS & Regular Periods
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome – PCOS
One of the most common signs of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is an irregular or absent period. But there are women that suffer from PCOS and never missed a period in their life. It makes you wonder. Can you suffer from PCOS and have regular periods? The answer is yes. Some women also ovulate every month as well with PCOS.
PCOS is caused when there is an imbalance in estrogen and progesterone hormones. These two (2) hormones play a vital role in the ovulation and menstrual cycle. When there is more estrogen in the body than there is progesterone, it can signal the LH Hormones, (the hormone responsible for the release of an egg), forcing your body to release an egg when you are not ovulating, resulting in an ovarian cyst. Over time, this imbalance contributes to the growth of multiple cysts, resulting in Polycystic Ovaries.
